Everyone Wants It, Or Do They?
I spend a lot of time with my clients helping them create more balance in their lives. And of course I work on it myself as well. Let me revise that.
The title of this blog, AND is one of the most powerful 3-letter words we have. Some are mistaken into thinking that BUT is the most powerful word – so they use it a lot! For example, "I'm good at what I do but I haven't made partner yet." Substituting "but" with "and" empowers us, allows us to see what's working so we can build on it, and is actually more honest because it is allows both sides of the statement to be true. Why not see things as they truly are and can be, rather than focus on what's missing? Using the word AND draws attention to our capacity to increase positivity and possibility in our lives. Try using it and see if you love it. My intention with this blog is to open to an ongoing dialogue about issues that come up in the world of coaching, which is to say, in our lives. I hope you'll join the conversation.

Gremlin is the name given by Rick Carson to describe the image behind that voice we’ve all heard, especially as we’re on the cusp of a new challenge or change, that tells us we can’t, it’s too scary, we’re not good enough and “everyone” is about to figure us out. As Rick teaches, we never get rid of the gremlin(s) entirely, we just tame them.
